Explorers Can't Get Past Dragons on the Road, 12-5

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle lacrosse team ventured on their first road trip of the season on Wednesday, but a dominant second half from Drexel earned the Dragons the victory, 12-5.

After Drexel scored the first goal of the game with 27:15 remaining in the first half, the Explorers tied everything up at 1-1. La Salle trailed by one goal early in the second half, 5-4, but six unanswered goals from the Dragons rounded out the game.

Junior Stefany McKee led the Explorers with three goals in the game and was followed up by junior Jill Davis with one. Davis has now recorded two goals on the season with each one coming in the first two games.

Both sophomore Brittany White and freshman Rachel Baker tallied three ground balls respectively and five others each totaled one ground ball each.

The Explorers had the upperhand in ground balls on the afternoon, 12-11, but Drexel capitalized in controlling the draw, 12-8. La Salle also tallied more saves than the Dragons, 8-5.

For Drexel, redshirt freshman Charlotte Wood scored a game-high six goals and junior Becca Drylie-Perkins finished second on the team with two goals.

The Explorers (0-2) have off for over a week before returning to action in Clinton, SC as they take on Presbyterian at 1:00 PM.
