Box Score

Philadelphia, PA - La Salle junior Jill Davis scored the first goal of the game 53 seconds in, but 16 unanswered goals from the University of Massachusetts handed the Explorers their first Atlantic 10 Conference loss of the season, 17-2.

Following Davis' goal, the Minutewomen rattled off nine consecutive goals to end the first period with a halftime score in favor of Massachusetts, 9-1. They opened up the second period with seven more goals, expanding their lead 16-1, before junior Elizabeth Iacullo broke the scoring streak with a goal at the 2:52 mark of the second period. The final goal on the afternoon was recorded by Massachusetts freshman Colleen Mulligan with 1:38 left in regulation.

Junior Nicole McCurdy scooped up a game-high three ground balls and freshman Nora McGurkin controlled the draw four times.

For the Minutewomen, senior Holly Drown and sophomore Haley Smith tallied three goals each and four others contributed two goals respectively. Senior Meghan Reddy controlled the draw a game-high 12 times and freshman Katie Florence tallied nine saves in front of the net.

The Explorers (3-5, 0-1) will play the final game of their two-game homestand on Sunday when they host Temple at 12:00 PM.
