PHILADELPHIA - Ally Kenney scored a pair of goals, Kierstyn Mabey tallied the game-winner, and Sara Copare netted a penalty kick as La Salle Women's Soccer defeated Drexel, 4-2, on Tuesday night at Vidas Field, which was the program's 150th career win.

Kenney, who increased her career goal total to six with the two in the game, gave the Explorers a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute on a feed from Traci DePasquale, her first of two on the night.

It was a one-goal lead at that point thanks to the goalkeeping of Melissa Sanger, who faced the game's first five shots, and registered three saves - two in the first eight minutes. She finished with four saves and picked up her 15th career win in net.

Over the last 12 minutes of the first half, La Salle outshot Drexel 5-1 and finally broke through with Kenney's goal - the only one of the first stanza.

In the second, Kenney put the Explorers up two after taking a pass near midfield, dribbling up the left side, beating three defenders and Drexel goalie Nicole Sinclair for an unassisted goal in the 59th minute.

Less than three minutes later, Mabey upped the La Salle advantage to three with her first career goal off another DePasquale assist - the 20th of her career, tied for fourth all-time, and her 60th career point.

Just over 10 minutes later, DePasquale raced after a loose ball inside the 18 and was taken down by Sinclair - earning the Explorers a penalty kick. Copare netted her second career goal with the conversion.

Drexel (0-1) scored a goal in the 80th minute by Juliana Speroni to avoid the shutout and added another one by Sydney Douglas in the 85th minute.

La Salle (1-0), which won its season opener for the third straight year, returns to action on Friday at Sacred Heart, with a 4 PM start.
