Explorers Get Past Norfolk State In Four Sets, 3-1

DOVER – The La Salle Volleyball team kicked off its weekend with a victory on Friday as they went on to defeat Norfolk State, 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 25-13), in the Explorers’ first match of the Delaware State Tournament.

Senior Rachel Stemper totaled her sixth double-double of the season, and the only one in the match, when she added team-highs of 13 kills and 10 digs in the win.

Freshman Samantha Tulskie was the only other Explorer to attain double-digit kills with 10, along with contributing seven assists and four digs. Junior Carly Conlon posted a team-high 14 assists and sophomore Kourtney Clark tallied eight assists, eight digs and three service aces.

For Norfolk State, freshman Kristen Burt led all participants with 18 assists and sophomore Breanna Allums recorded eight kills, six digs, three assists, three total blocks (2 BA, BS) and two service aces.

The Explorers (2-8) will complete their stay in Dover tomorrow with matches against Maryland Eastern Shore at 11 AM and host Delaware State at 5 PM.
