PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's tennis team hosted the second match of four straight on Tuesday when Millersville came to town. It was a close match until the Explorers opened it up in singles competition as they went on to win, 4-3.
"Millersville came out firing," said La Salle head coach Ed Colfer. "They showed a lot of heart today but we did not back down. Rob [Kruster] really stepped up with his victory in singles action."
Freshman Trevor Donovan moves to 3-0 on the season in singles play with a score of 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5. Junior George Gennaoui picked up his second straight singles victory at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-1 finish as well.
The Explorers (2-1) will remain home for their next match when they host Delaware State on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 2 PM.
