PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men’s tennis team, who hosted its third consecutive home match on Wednesday, picked up a 5-2 win over Delaware State after rounding out the afternoon with a 4-2 finish in singles action.
“We played with a lot of injuries today but I’m glad we got the win,” said La Salle head coach Ed Colfer. “I’m very happy with the way we played today.”
Senior Jon Maula, who won at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 6-4 score over Delaware State junior Milos Velickovic, teamed up with junior George Gennaoui at No. 1 doubles for the victory. Maula moves to 2-1 in both singles and doubles competition this fall.
Freshman Trevor Donovan remains unbeaten in singles play this year at 4-0 with a victory at No. 4.
The Explorers (3-1) will host Philadelphia University on Friday, Sept. 25, at 3:30 PM.
