PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle volleyball team opened up conference play at Tom Gola Arena on Friday with George Washington, but the Colonials' .384 attack percentage was the deciding factor in their 3-0 (18-25, 12-25, 21-25) win over the Explorers.
Sophomore Stephanie Milovic posted a team-high .333 attack percentage (6K-1E-15TA) while contributing a dig. Three Explorers notched five kills led by senior Rachel Stemper and freshman Lauren Noga who both tallied four digs and one solo block.
The Colonials, who executed in all aspects of the match, had the upperhand in kills (46-30), digs (50-38), assists (44-28) and service aces (5-2).
Freshman Breanna Mazalewski tied a match-high with 16 digs, junior Carly Conlon paced all Explorers with 14 assists and sophomore Kourtney Clark chipped in with 10 assists of her own.
George Washington featured the only participant to reach double-digit kills as senior Katie Butz finished with 11. Junior Leah Hill was two kills shy of recording a double-double, ending with eight kills and 16 digs, and sophomore Alyssa Valentine distributed a match-high 40 assists.
The Explorers (3-16, 0-1) will remain home for Sunday's match against Charlotte at 1 PM.
