LORETTO, PA - UC-Davis overcame a 1-0 deficit with two late goals to defeat La Salle in overtime, 2-1, in a non-conference field hockey matchup played at St. Francis (PA). Junior Beth Carey scored the Explorers only goal in the sixth minute. Junior Emma Ruth had 10 saves in defeat.

La Salle (0-3) held the lead until the 54th minute when UC-Davis' Kelly Knauf scored on a corner. The game remained tied at 1-1 through regulation, sending the Explorers into overtime for the first time this season.

Erin LemMon broke the tie 4:57 into the extra period with her game-winner. Ruth saved the initial attempt but LemMon scored on the rebound to finish the contest.

UC-Davis (3-0) held a 14-9 advantage in shots and 9-7 lead in corners.

The Explorers remain in Loretto to take on host St. Francis (PA) on Sunday at 1 PM.
