La Salle Loses 3-1 On The Road To Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE – The La Salle Volleyball team traveled to Lawrenceville, NJ, on Tuesday to meet up with Rider, but an early start from the Broncs provided them with the momentum as they went on to win, 3-1 (20-25, 25-27, 25-22, 21-25).

Sophomore Kourtney Clark led the team with 18 assists and was one of five Explorers to record double figure digs, ending with 11. Freshman Kelly Scanlon contributed La Salle’s only double-double as she went on to finish with 12 kills, 13 digs and a service ace.

Senior Rachel Stemper, who was named to the Big 5 All-Tournament Team this past weekend, and sophomore Stephanie Milovic were both one kill shy of attaining double-doubles on the evening. Stemper finished with nine kills and 14 digs and Milovic rounded out with nine kills, 12 digs and six assists. Freshman Samantha Tulskie led all Explorers with 23 digs and junior Carly Conlon tallied double figure assists with 11.

Junior Elyse Grassmuck helped lead the Broncs to victory with a match-high 26 assists and senior Amy Jeary also added a match-high with 34 digs.

The Explorers (1-8) will head back out on the road this weekend as they get set to take part in the Delaware State Tournament. Their first match-up is with Norfolk State on Friday at 3 PM.
