PHILADELPHIA - La Salle senior Gabrielle Nolt scored the first goal of the game just 58 seconds into the contest but Saint Joseph's recovered for a 3-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Drexel's Buckley Field. Sophomore Rebecca Chylack scored the other Explorer goal.

Following an early corner, Nolt collected a pass from junior Lindsay Fry and deposited it into the cage for the Explorers' quickest goal of the season.

SJU scored five minutes later on Theresa Testa's tally to even the score. Therese Doyle scored in the 29th minute to give the Hawks a lead they would not relinquish.

Two minutes after halftime, St. Joe's (5-9, 2-1 A-10) extended the lead to 3-1 on Nicole McCreight's 11th goal of the year.

Chylack cut the deficit to one with her team-best sixth goal of the season in the 52nd minute. Sophomore Neelam Kumar and freshman Haley Jennings had the assists.

Senior Emma Ruth made five saves in defeat, while SJU's Kelly Swanick had 14, including 10 in the second half.

The Explorers (6-9, 1-2 A-10) held a 19-17 advantage in shots and a 8-5 lead in corners.

La Salle continues Atlantic 10 play on Friday with a trip to conference-newcomer Lock Haven.
