CHARLOTTE - Jacquelyn Mitrovich tallied a match-high 11 kills, but La Salle couldn't push past Charlotte, falling 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-14).

In the opening set, Charlotte built up an 11-4 lead.  The Explorers fought back to bring the score within three at 18-15 after a block by Mitrovich and Kourtney Clark and a resulting 49ers attack error.  The 49ers dug in and La Salle would go on to lose the set 25-19.

The Explorers were overmatched in the third and fourth sets and unable to string together an attack.

Breanna Mazalewski added 11 digs for the Explorers, while Clark tallied 27 assists.

Kara Raker notched eight kills to lead a balanced Charlotte attack.

The volleyball team returns home on Friday, October 22 for a 7 p.m. contest against Duquesne at the Tom Gola Arena.
