VILLANOVA, PA - Villanova scored a goal in the sixth minute and never looked back in handing La Salle a 2-0 defeat in field hockey on Sunday night at Villanova Stadium. Senior Emma Ruth had eight saves for the Explorers, which had won three straight contests.

Dana Ramsden netted both goals for the Wildcats at the 5:59 and 42:18 marks. The first goal was unassisted and the second was assisted by Megan Ryan.

The Wildcats (3-6) held an advantage of 12-8 on corners and 19-9 on shots over the Explorers.

Defensively, VU junior keeper Megan Goelz had six saves in the victory.

Rebecca Chylack had three of LU's nine shots.

La Salle (5-6) will open conference play on Friday when it visits West Chester at 3 PM.
