PHILADELPHIA -
The La Salle men's tennis team won the top four singles matches and the doubles point to beat visiting Fordham, 5-2, on Saturday. The Explorers have now won four of their last five matches and are 13-6 this season.
"We beat a very good Fordham team today," head coach Ed Colfer said. "We competed hard and have a big week of tennis ahead of us."
Junior George Gennaoui won 6-2, 6-1 at first singles, while sophomore Fernando Tovia captured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second signles. Jon Maula (6-4, 2-6, 6-1) and Bill Nason (6-3, 1-6, 6-3) also won singles matches at #3 and #4.
Fordham falls to 4-9.
La Salle returns to the courts on Sunday when it hosts New Jersey Tech.
