BRONX, NY - In the second game of another key Atlantic 10 Conference series for La Salle Baseball, the host Fordham Rams evened the series with a 6-1 victory on Saturday afternoon at Houlihan Park.

Despite drawing nine free passes, seven walks and two hit-by-pitches, the Explorers were limited to just three hits. Of those 12 players that reached base, only six were left on base, as the Rams erased three trying to steal, and turned one double play.

Kevin Christy, who dropped to 2-5 with the loss, surrendered a solo home run in both the first and second. He went five innings, allowed three runs, and struck out four to push his season total to 62, which puts him eighth all-time in a single-season at La Salle.

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the fourth, the Explorers scored their only run of the game on their first hit of the afternoon. For the third time in the game, La Salle had its lead-off man on board, as Brendan Norton reached by walk. He was on third two outs later and Chris Umstead hit a double down the left-field line to plate Norton.

Fordham (15-28, 9-8 A-10) would respond with a run in the fifth and sixth, and put the game away with two in the eighth to push its lead to five. Michael Taddei led the Rams with a 3-for-4 effort and three runs scored including a solo home run in the second.

Max Krakowiak improved to 4-3 with the win, going 6.2 innings allowing just three hits, one run and striking out four. Jordan Grangard earned his third save with 2.1 perfect innings.

La Salle (15-25, 9-8 A-10) and the Rams will play the rubber match of the three-game series on Sunday with a 1 PM start.
