PHILADELPHIA - With double-digit kills by Jacquelyn Mitrovich and Danielle DiMarco, the Explorers defeated Rider, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-23).
The sweep is the first of the season for La Salle and puts the Explorers on a two-game winning streak.
Mitrovich paced La Salle with 11 kills, hitting at a .286 clip, and DiMarco contributed ten kills and 14 digs. Breanna Mazalewski also had 14 digs while Kourtney Clark notched 23 assists.
The Explorers took control of the first set early, never trailing in the game.
The third set was tightly contested with eight ties. On match point for La Salle at 24-23, an attack error by the Broncos gave the Explorers the victory.
In the first two sets, the Explorers held the Broncos to a negative attack percentage and the Broncos hit just .041 in the third set. La Salle hit .118 for the game.
The Explorers will return to action on Friday when they open play in the Big 5 Tournament against Villanova at 4 pm.
