The Explorer Club will host the 2011 Pledge Drive Celebration on Thursday, May 12 at 6:00 pm in Treetops Café on La Salle’s South Campus. All Explorer Club members and friends of La Salle Athletics are welcome and encouraged to attend. The reception marks the conclusion of the Explorer Club’s six week fundraising kickoff for 2011-12 academic year. The group will also be celebrating the senior student-athletes, who will be in attendance along with La Salle coaches, as they prepared for graduation on Sunday, May 15.

The Pledge Drive was made possible by the volunteer members of the Explorer Club’s Board of Directors. Overall leadership provided by Jack Marczely ’60, who served as the Pledge Drive Commissioner, and Dennis Reid ’70, Explorer Club President. Working directly with the Explorer Club Board Members, the Pledge Drive Captains served as intermediaries between the Athletic Department and the volunteers working to raise money for La Salle Athletics. The captains for this year’s Pledge Drive were Wade Brosius ’88, Joe Cloran ’61, Bill ’96 and Katie Jones ’96, Ken Mancini ’69, Steve McGonigle ’72, and Jim McManus ’69.

Though the Pledge Drive will conclude this week, the Explorer Club will continue its fundraising efforts through the 2011-12 academic year. Make Your Pledge Today!
