PHILADELPHIA - La Salle sophomore
Tyreek Duren has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, it was announced today. Duren averaged 17.0 points and 4.5 assists while making 11 of his 14 attempts in a week in which the Explorers defeated city rival Penn and dropped a close contest at Dayton.
Duren dropped 21 points, handed out six assists, and swiped a season-high four steals in a 68-57 win over Big 5 rival Penn on Tuesday . He shot 6-for-8 and made both three-point attempts.
At Dayton, the sophomore had 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
Duren is averaging 13.5 ppg. and 4.6 apg., which ranks fifth in the Atlantic 10. His 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio is fourth in the league and his plus/minus of 227 leads the Atlantic 10 according to statsheet.com.
