PHILADELPHIA - The GoExplorers.com “Getting to Know” series continues this week and features swimming sophomore Greta Reichert. A transfer student, Reichert has posted the Atlantic 10's top time in the 1650 free (16:57.88) this season, as well as the conference's second-best time in the 500-free (4:57.85), swimming both during the Bucknell Invitiational in November.
What was your first impression of La Salle when you stepped on campus? Has this impression changed the longer you've been here?
After transferring from Boston College, I immediately loved the close-knit atmosphere of La Salle's campus. I like it even more now because it only takes me a few minutes to walk wherever I need to go.
What's your favorite part about being a La Salle athlete?
I love the people I've been introduced to through swimming at La Salle. My teammates have become some of my best friends, and my coaches are always there to help me.
What's on your iPod right now?
“Somebody That I Used to Know” - Gotye
If you were stranded on an island, what one person would you want to be with and why?
I would want to be stranded with my teammate
Jessica Simunek because she would keep me entertained and we would end up having a great time.
What would you do with a million dollars?
I would share it with my family members, and then I would use the rest to help pay for my college tuition.
What are your career goals?
I think I want to go to law school.
What's your greatest accomplishment so far?
Getting an All-American time in the 500-yard freestyle in High School.
Any other interesting facts about yourself?
I am a lifeguard for the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol. And Monday is my favorite day of the week.
