Women's Swim and Dive Maintain Third at Bucknell Invitational


Day 2 Results

LEWISBURG, PA – The women's swim and dive team put together another great performance, collecting three wins on the second day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational. The Explorers remain in third place with a total of 708.5 points.
 
The women started off tonight's finals with their third consecutive relay win of the meet, taking first the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Amina Wilson, Elizabeth Jordan, Jessica Simunek, and Katie Snee finished in a time of 1:44.71, over two seconds clear of the field.
 
In addition to her relay win, Simunek added a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, nearly setting a personal best in the process. Her time of 56.04 was just shy of her own school record time of 55.93. Simunek also picked up a third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:04.29.
 
Jordan also earned an individual win tonight, claiming gold in the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.30, just twenty seven one-hundredths of a second shy of her own school record.
 
Sophomores Amina Wilson and Chelsey Curran added seventh and ninth place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke, respectively. Wilson clocked a 58.52 while Curran, from the “B” final, earned a personal best time of 57.57.
 
The Explorers begin the third and final day of competition at 10:00 AM and finals begin at 5:00 PM.
