KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Kelsey Jenkinson wasted no time making an impression on Friday morning at the AT&T Winter National Championships, clocking a 1:02.67 in the 100-yard breaststroke preliminary en route to a 22
nd place finish. Jenkinson bested the previous school record of 1:02.92, set by
Jessica Simunek during the spring.
In tonight's finals of the event, Jenkinson bettered her preliminary time by nine one-hundredths of a second, touching in 1:02.58 to re-break her own record. The time was good to maintain 22
nd place.Â
Amina Wilson competed in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 56.98. The finish was good for 71
st in a field of 90 of the nation's best backstrokers.
Katie Snee and
Colleen Larkin are also representing the Explorers at Nationals, giving the Blue and Gold four performers at the event. La Salle is one of three Atlantic 10 programs to have individuals qualify for the national meet.Â
