USBWA All-District Teams
PHILADELPHIA - La Salle senior
Ramon Galloway has been named to the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District II team, it was announced today. District II is comprised of Division I universities from New York, New Jersey, Delaware, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Galloway becomes the first Explorer to earn USBWA honors since Steven Smith in 2006. The first team All-Atlantic 10 selection led La Salle in scoring with a 17.4 ppg. average and ranks second in the Atlantic 10. The Philadelphia native also leads the Explorers in assists (107), three-pointers (80), steals (60) and free-throw percentage (.825).
A transfer from South Carolina, Galloway became the 55
th Explorer to score 500 points in a season this year. He has 1,509 career points in his four-year career, including 944 as an Explorer. Galloway earned second team all-Atlantic 10 recognition as a junior after leading the Blue and Gold to a 21-13 record and an appearance in the NIT.
Since Galloway joined the program, La Salle owns a 42-21 record (.667) and a 20-12 (.625) record in Atlantic 10 play.
