PHILADELPHIA – La Salle sophomore guard
D.J. Peterson has requested and been granted a release to transfer to another university closer to home.
“D.J. has made a great contribution to our program over the last two years,” head coach
Dr. John Giannini said. “We greatly value his toughness, unselfishness and winning ways. We understand his feelings of wanting to be closer to home. We will always think positively of D.J.”
“I've enjoyed my time and the relationships I've made here at La Salle,” Peterson said. “However, I want to explore opportunities closer to home to continue my education and basketball career. I want to thank my coaches, teammates and fans for their support during my two years here.”
Peterson appeared in all 34 games for the Explorers, starting 18. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting .400 (32-for-80) from three-point range.
