PHILADELPHIA –
Jordan Price (Decatur, Ga. / Southwest DeKalb / Auburn), who played one season at Auburn University, will transfer to La Salle University and play men's basketball, head coach
Dr. John Giannini announced today.
“Jordan is high in character and talent and comes from a great family,” Giannini said. “We are committed to pushing Jordan to reach his full potential as an all-around player and he is eager to accept this challenge. I am excited about his mindset coming into our program and the contribution he can make to our future success.”
Price (6-5, 230) averaged 5.4 ppg. and shot 39% from three-point range as a freshman in the SEC. He scored a career-high 19 points versus Rhode Island and matched an SEC record by making 11 straight three-pointers in December.
The #57 recruit nationally and a four-star player by Scout.com, Price averaged 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists on his way to Class 4A First Team All-State honors at Southwest DeKalb High School. He helped lead his team to the state championship game during his senior year.
A participant in the national High School Three-Point Championship in New Orleans during the 2012 Final Four, Price also attended the NBA Camp for college prospects in the summer of the 2011 and was one of the camp's top scorers.
As a junior, Price averaged 19 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in leading Southwest DeKalb to a 25-5 record.
Price will be eligible to play during the 2014-15 season after sitting out a year due to NCAA transfer regulations.
