Kelly Perillo led the team with six kills in the losing effort.

The Rams were able to jump out to a hot start, and won the first two sets by identical 25-9 score lines. VCU (9-8, 3-1 A-10) scored the first seven points of set one and never looked back. Perillo had three of her six kills in the first set, and sophomore
Ashley Felton added in two kills of her own. Set two looked similar to the first set, as the Rams were able to jump out to an early lead and never looked back. Freshman
Bryanna Davis, Felton and Perillo each had one kill in the set.

The Explorers came out and made a fight of things in the third set. The teams traded points early in the set with La Salle getting as close as a 7-5 game in the third frame. However, ultimately the host Rams were able to get hot again and wrapped up the match. Â
Laura Kuhlmeier helped provide a bit of a spark in set three adding in all four of her kills on the day. Freshman
Hannah McGary also proved a source of offense in set three as she added in two kills on just seven digs.

Michelle Healy added all 16 assists on the night for La Salle. The Explorers were able to muster just two service aces compared to 10 by the Rams on the night.

La Salle (6-15, 0-5 A-10) returns to action when the face Atlantic 10 newcomer Davidson on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in North Carolina.Â
