Set one saw the Explorers (8-17, 1-7 A-10) battle early, before the Colonials (15-6, 6-2) pulled away late in the set. A Larua Kuhlmeier kill followed by an
Erin Noga ace gave La Salle an early 4-3 lead in the set. However, the Colonials answered with six straight points of their own to grab a 12-5 lead, which the Explorers weren't quite able to cut into. Kuhlmeier paced the Explorers with four kills in the first frame. Sophomore
Ashley Felton added three kills on just five swings for a .600 hitting percentage in the set.

La Salle came out and controlled the early going of the second set, only to have George Washington get hot late in the set and steal it away from them. Despite falling behind 6-2 early, the Explorers responded and ultimately grabbed a 10-8 lead after a kill from Whelan. Despite again falling behind in the set, a
Laura Kuhlmeier kill notched things up at 23-23. The Colonials regained their composure and pulled off two straight points to take the set 25-23.
Jennifer Whelan had three kills and a .400 hitting percentage in the set to pace the Explorers.
Erin Noga came up big defensively, with six digs in the frame.

The final frame was controlled by the Colonials from start to finish. The visitors jumped out to a 17-2 lead early in the set. The Explores tried to cut into the gap, grabbing seven of the next eleven points, but it wasn't enough, as George Washington closed out the set 25-10, and took the match 3-0. Freshman
Bryanna Davis, Whelan and Kuhlmeier had the three kills of the set for the Explorers.

Michelle Healy added nine assists and nine digs on the evening. Whelan led the team with a .357 hitting percentage to go along with two service aces and six kills. La Salle as a team had seven service aces by six different players on the evening.

La Salle returns to action as they host George Mason on Sunday afternoon with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
