Three Explorer Women Qualify for Finals on Friday Evening at A-10 Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Sarah Finn, Chelsey Curran, and Amina Wilson each qualified for tonight's finals in their respective events at the Atlantic 10 Championships during preliminary competition on Friday afternoon at the Spire Institute.

Curran posted the top Explorer finish of the morning, coming in eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a 56.69. Wilson wasn't far behind, registering a 10th place finish of 56.84. Finn clocked a 1:52.07 in the 200-yard freestyle, good for 14th place.

Julia Mann swam a 57.34 in the 100-yard butterfly, coming in 23rd. Lianne McCluskey filed in 27th, touching the wall at 58.69.

Greta Reichert notched a 1:53.17 in the 200-yard freestyle, placing 24th followed by Colleen Larkin who finished 25th with a 1:53.31. Kaitlyn Hay swam a 1:55.46, good for 37th and Hayley Miles followed with a 38th place time of 1:55.66.

Megan Baylis and Tanawan Sukonthapanich finished 30th and 31st, respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke. Despite posting a 1:02.58, A-10 frontrunner Kelsey Jenkinson was disqualified due to a false start. 

The conference championships resume Friday evening at 6:30 PM.
