PHILADELPHIA - Six lacrosse student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll status from the IWLCA, capping a 2013-14 season that saw many accolades for the Explorer squad.
Claire Andrews (Accounting),
Caitlyn Brostrand (Nursing),
Maddy Collins (English),
Anastasia Fries (Geology),
Kelly Collins (Finance) and
Katie Marasco (Management/Art) earned the distinction. To qualify, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average and be at least a junior academically.
The six are part of 233 student-athletes from a total of 79 Division I institutions to be named to this year's honor roll. They spearhead a highly academic Explorer squad that was recently named an IWLCA Honor Squad for having a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Brostrand and Marasco also picked up academic honors this season from the Atlantic 10 Conference as the pair was named Academic All-Conference upon the conclusion of the regular season.
All six earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for one or both semesters in 2013-14 for posting a term GPA of at least 3.50.
On the field, they were part of a squad that advanced to the Atlantic 10 Tournament as the No. 3 seed and posted a program record 11 wins.
