PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's swimming and diving team picked up a commanding 213-87 victory over the Loyola Greyhounds in a dual meet on Thursday evening at Kirk Pool.
"It is always fun to race at Kirk Pool," said head coach
Matt Nunnally. "The team has shown great energy at practices and that same energy was apparent at this meet."

Amina Wilson and
Sarah Finn jumpstarted the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay (3:59.32).
Emma Smith kept the momentum going with a 1
st place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, reaching the wall more than 25 seconds ahead of the next competitor with a time of 10:19.41. The freshman also paced the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.79) and the 200-yard IM (2:11.76).
Kate Hay was another standout for the Blue and Gold, winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.86. The sophomore also finished 2
nd in the 50-yard freestyle (24.84), trailing teammate
Amina Wilson (24.81) by .03 seconds.
Hay was also part of the fastest 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:39.21) along with Wilson, Finn and
Tanawan Sukonthapanich.
Paige Frishkorn and Sidney Szopo excelled on both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards for the Explorers. Frishkorn was victorious in the 1-meter dive (253.43) and took 2
nd in the 3-meter (234.00). Szopo, meanwhile, won the 3-meter competition (245.33) and finished 4
th in the 1-meter (214.95).
The women's swimming and diving team is back in action when they host Penn in Kirk Pool on Saturday, January 31 for Senior Day. Atlantic 10 Championships are February 18-21 at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
