RICHMOND, Va. - The La Salle field hockey team suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of league-leading Richmond on Friday afternoon at Crenshaw Field. Junior goalkeeper

The game remained scoreless for most of the first half until the Spiders (6-6, 3-0 A-10) scored two goals in the final minutes before halftime. Taylor Deitrick found the back of the cage in the 30th minute while Kimberly Sportack made it 2-0 with 2:37 before intermission.
The Spiders added goals in the 46th, 50th and 65th minute to take home the victory.
Richmond had a 21-3 advantage in shots and a 10-1 lead in corners.

Abbey Lawrence had two of La Salle's three shots.
The Explorers (4-7, 1-3 A-10) remain in Richmond to visit VCU on Sunday at noon.Â
