PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University community welcomed incoming president Dr. Colleen Hanycz at a "Taste of Philly" event on campus last week and La Salle Athletics was well represented.

Dr. Hanycz met Director of Athletics Dr. Tom Brennan and Head Men's Basketball Coach Dr. John Giannini (pictured above).

"It certainly has been a pleasure meeting Dr. Hanycz and also her family during her recent visits to La Salle," Brennan said. "She seems to have a command of the issues confronting higher education as well as an understanding and appreciation regarding the important and proper role of Athletics at La Salle. I look forward with great enthusiasm to the opportunity to work with her in the years ahead."

"In this brief meeting, President Hanycz encouraged us to make the NCAA Tournament, offered to meet with our team and asked about our incoming recruits by name," Giannini said. "That's impressive and exciting in my book."
