PHILADELPHIA-The La Salle volleyball team fell to Rhode Island in three sets on Friday night at the Tom Gola Arena. The Rams won the match 0-3 with scores of 19-25, 15-25, 13-25.
Devin Corah paced the Explorers with seven kills, while
Madison Kuch recorded six for the Explorers effort. Despite two service aces from freshman Hayley Belcik, the Explorers were unable to grab a lead over the Rams in the three set contest.
Catherine Edgington led the Explorers defensively, with three blocks and
Ashley Felton and Corah posted two.
Jensen Sharrits tallied 11 digs in the match and
Kathryn Wood recorded five.
Wood recorded 15 digs in the match in the Explorers effort, but the Rams closed the match to take the conference win.
La Salle will return to the court on Sunday at 1:00 PM to host Fordham. The Explorers will celebrate 44 years of volleyball with the team's annual alumni game and welcome back former players on Sunday at the Tom Gola.
