PHILADELPHIA - La Salle senior guard
Jordan Price was named to the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Second Team, according to a vote conducted by the league's coaches and media members that was announced on Tuesday.
The Atlantic 10 preseason poll was also unveiled prior to the start of the conference's annual Media Day at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, with the Explorers tabbed to finish seventh.
Price, a Second Team All-Big 5 selection a year ago, led the Explorers in scoring for the second consecutive season at 19.2 points per contest. The offensive output paced all Big 5 players and was good for third in the Atlantic 10, and ranks in the top 20 among all returning scorers nationally.Â
Over his two years at La Salle, Price has totaled 1,164 points to stand in the top 40 on the school's all-time scoring list. The Decatur, Ga. product, who was
one of 20 players nationally to earn an invitation to Under Armour's All-America Camp this summer, also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists over 31 contests last year while averaging a league-best 37.7 minutes a game.
Led by head coach
Dr. John Giannini, the Explorers return Price and four other starters from a season ago, and welcome a number of talented players to the mix for the 2016-17 campaign which begins on Friday, Nov. 11 with a Big 5 matchup at Temple.
La Salle's home opener will take place on Nov. 15 against Delaware at Gola Arena at 7:00 p.m.
