PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Salle Explorers dropped the team's final match of the season to Duquesne on Saturday night in a 3-0 contest. The Explorers ended the season against their A-10 rivals in three tight sets, with scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.
La Salle was stumped by a strong Duquesne defense, with the Dukes posting nine total blocks to the Explorers six. With the Dukes controlling the game defensively, La Salle was unable to grab a lead to take a set from Duquesne.
The Explorers averaged a .107 attack percentage against the Dukes .131.
Devin Corah led the match offensively, posting 13 kills, while
Catherine Edgington added eight of her own.
Madison Kuch also added five kills against the Dukes in the Explorers effort.
Kathryn Wood posted a career-high of three aces, while Hayley Belcik added two for La Salle. Wood also posted 28 assists for La Salle to lead the match.
Jensen Sharrits let the match with 11 digs and
Bryanna Davis followed up with eight digs in La Salle's defensive effort.
