Men's Basketball | April 12, 2016
PHILADELPHIA - Five La Salle teams, including men's basketball, have received NCAA Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards for ranking in the top ten percent of their sport. The other four teams are men's tennis, women's tennis, women's cross country and women's track and field.
Each year, the NCAA honors selected Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multiyear NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate. The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
This public recognition for men's basketball marks the second straight year that
Dr. John Giannini's squad has been recognized nationally. It is the third straight year for men's tennis and the second straight for women's tennis.
