Men's Basketball Inks Four to National Letters of Intent During Early Signing Period

Recruiting Class

Men's Basketball | November 14, 2017

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University head men's basketball coach Dr. John Giannini has announced that four student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2018-19 season. Jack Clark (Cheltenham, Pa.), Ed Croswell (Philadelphia, Pa.), Jared Kimbrough (Neptune, N.J.) and Osun Osunniyi (Pleasantville, N.J.) comprise the talented class.

"This signing class is very strong," Giannini said. "While they are all outstanding high school players, I believe they each possess exception long-term potential as well."

2017 La Salle Men's Basketball Signing Day Notes & Quotes (In Alphabetical Order):

Jack Clark - 6-7 - Guard - Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham
As a junior, Clark helped Cheltenham High School to 19 wins and an appearance in the state tournament by averaging over 18 points per game. He was also selected to participate in the Under Armour All-American Camp this past summer in Philadelphia.

Giannini on Clark: "Jack is a very skilled guard with tremendous length. I believe he is still growing and his body will also gain stength in college. He has a rare combination of skill and size. His potential is very high."

Ed Croswell - 6-8 - Forward - Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep
Croswell averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds a game for former La Salle University head coach Speedy Morris at St. Joseph's Prep as a junior. The power forward was a Second Team All-Catholic League selection last year, and recorded a triple double (17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks) in a win over West Catholic.

Giannini on Croswell: "Ed is a strong, tough rebounder and inside player with a college-ready body. He has surprising skills, as he had a late growth spurt and was a guard at one time. His ability to put the ball on the floor allows him to beat opponents with quickness as well as strength."

Jared Kimbrough - 6-7 - Forward - Neptune, N.J./Neptune
Kimbrough was an All-Shore Second Team selection by the Shore Sports Network following his junior year. During the 2016-17 season, the 6-7 forward averaged 14.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and three blocked shots per game while ranking second in his league in both rebounding and blocks.

Giannini on Kimbrough: "Jared is very athletic and skilled. He goes right or left easily and has great footwork. He is crafty around the basket with good touch and is consistently expanding his shooting range. He should be a versatile scorer and rebounder who will be a tough matchup."

Osun Osunniyi - 6-10 - Center - Pleasantville, N.J./Putnam Science Academy (Conn.)
Osunniyi, who grew nine inches from his freshman to senior seasons in high school, averaged 14.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.6 blocked shots per game in his senior season at Mainland Regional High School in New Jersey. He shot an impressive 71 percent from the floor in 2016-17, leading the Mustangs to a 22-6 record and the Cape-Atlantic League National Division title.

Giannini on Osunniyi: "Osun is an elite shot blocker. His length, quick reactions and quick jumping ability allows him to consistently block and alter shots. He is having success as a rebounder and scorer as well, but it is hard for his defensive abilities to not stand out."

La Salle men's basketball is currently 2-0 on the year and will host South Alabama on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tickets are still available by calling 215-951-1999 or by visiting goexplorers.com/buytickets.
