PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's water polo team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season. The 2018 season marks the team's second in program history.
The Explorers begin play on February 17 at the Laker Invitational when they will play in a weekend tournament hosted by Mercyhurst. Their first opponent is still to be determined.
The very brief non-conference schedule ends as La Salle will then travel to Albany, New York, to take on three MAAC teams in two days, beginning on March 10. The team starts conference play against VMI, a formidable opponent which the Explorers managed nine goals against last season. La Salle will take on Marist, a heavy favorite in the conference, the following day.
The team continues MAAC play throughout the months of March and April.
The Explorers play locally on April 14 when they take on both Siena and St. Francis Brooklyn at Villanova. They will then make their 2018 home debut the same day that their regular season concludes on April 15 in hosting Villanova and Iona.
Game times are still to be determined.
The MAACÂ postseason is set for the last weekend in April with the championship taking place on Sunday, April 29 and hosted by Marist.
