Six La Salle Teams Receive NCAA APR Public Recognition Awards

Graduation

Men's Basketball | May 4, 2017

PHILADELPHIA - Six La Salle University sport programs, including men's basketball, have received NCAA Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards for ranking in the top ten percent of their sport, it was announced on Wednesday.

In addition to men's basketball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track and field, women's cross country and women's track and field were cited by the organization.

Each year, the NCAA honors select Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multiyear NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate. The public recognition is based on scores compiled through the 2015-16 academic year.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

This marks the third straight year that the men's basketball team has been recognized nationally, the fourth consecutive year for men's tennis and the third straight for women's tennis.
