PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team has released its full 2017-18 schedule in conjunction with the announcement of the Atlantic 10's 18-game conference slate on Wednesday. Five A-10 games featuring the Explorers will be shown live on national television, as well as the home game against Big 5 rival Temple on Sunday, Nov. 26, which will be aired on NBC Sports Network beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The Explorers will begin A-10 play at home on Saturday, Dec. 30 against Saint Louis at the Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center, before a road trip to defending conference tournament champion Rhode Island that kicks off the 2018 calendar year on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
A nationally-televised home game with VCU will take place on Saturday, Jan. 6, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The tilt will air on NBC Sports Network, one of three La Salle games over a two-week span that will be shown on the channel.
Following a trip to Massachusetts, La Salle tangles with Duquesne on Saturday, Jan. 13, in a game that will be televised nationally on NBCSN. Tipoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
Fordham travels to Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 17, before the Explorers hit the road again for a featured game at Richmond on Saturday, Jan. 20. The game will be aired on NBCSN and will commence at 2:30 p.m.
The home-and-home series against UMass concludes on January 24 at Gola, and a week-long break leads into a midweek trip to Davidson on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
The always-anticipated home game against Philadelphia rival Saint Joseph's will be shown live on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, Feb. 3. A tipoff time for that game will be announced at a later date, as will times for all other non-televised affairs.
Consecutive road contests against George Washington (Feb. 7) and Saint Louis (Feb. 10) feed into a three-game homestand that begins on Tuesday, Feb. 13 against St. Bonaventure. George Mason will battle La Salle on Saturday, Feb. 17, before another La Salle-Rhode Island matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 20. That contest will air on CBS Sports Network.
A weekend contest against Fordham (Saturday, Feb. 24), a home game against Dayton (Wednesday, Feb. 28) and the Big 5 matchup with St. Joe's (Saturday, Mar. 3) round out the schedule.
The Atlantic 10 Tournament will be held at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on March 7-11, with 11 games scheduled to be carried on national television. The final on March 11 will be broadcast by CBS Sports for the ninth consecutive season.
Additional regional and local television coverage will be announced at a later date.
