AMHERST, Mass. – The La Salle softball team (7-15, 0-3 A-10) fell 8-0 to the Massachusetts Minutewomen (14-10, 3-0) on Sunday afternoon in the series finale at Sortino Field.
UMass pushed a run across in the 1
st against
Marlo Roadcap (L, 2-9) on a Kaycee Carbone sacrifice fly. The game played scoreless until the top of the 3
rd, when Massachusetts erupted for seven runs on six hits.
Meg Colleran (W, 5-4) pitched three shutout innings to earn the win for Massachusetts before Quinn Breidenbach and Kiara Oliver each threw a scoreless frame to close out the win.
Freshman
Morgan Orlowski threw two scoreless innings to finish the game for the Explorers, pitching around four hits and a walk to lower her ERA for the season to 3.03.
The Explorers are scheduled to host Villanova on Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader at West Campus Field.
