PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University men's basketball standout
B.J. Johnson was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Second Team, it was announced recently. This marks the second consecutive season that Johnson has earned the honor.
A pure and versatile scorer, Johnson averaged 20.8 points per game during the 2017-18 season to lead the Explorers and rank third in the Atlantic 10. The 6-7 forward also paced La Salle in rebounding at 8.3 per game, which was good for fourth in the category among A-10 players.
For his career, Johnson scored 1,070 points to rank in the top 50 in school history despite playing just two seasons. He also became the first player to lead the Explorers in both scoring and rebounding for two straight seasons since two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Steven Smith did so three consecutive years from 2003-06.
