Kathryn Wood totaled 37 assists and narrowly missed a double-double with nine digs to help lead the La Salle University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 26-24) win over Morgan State on Friday at the University of Delaware Classic. Sophomore

Madison Kuch added 12 kills for the Explorers, who will face Villanova and the host Blue Hens on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morgan State jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first game and led 10-7 before the Explorers scored six of the next seven points to take a 13-11 lead.
- La Salle used a balanced attack during the run, as four different players registered a kill.
- The two teams traded points for the remainder of the set, with the Bears fighting off a pair of game points before an attack error closed it out.
- The Explorers got off to a fast start in the second set, pushing to a 15-6 lead.
- Four different players -- Graver, Kuch, and juniors Catherine Edgington and Devin Corah -- all recorded kills during the stretch.
- Corah concluded the game with a kill off a set from Wood, as the Explorers extended their overall lead to 2-0.
- Morgan State battled in the third, and had an opportunity to extend the match to a fourth game.
- After a timeout by head coach Caitlin Schweihofer, La Salle reeled off three straight points to take the game, 26-24, and the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- La Salle hit .202 on the match, narrowly edging Morgan State in the category (.198).
- Senior libero Jensen Sharrits led the team with 16 digs.
- Cristen Coryatt paced the Bears with 11 kills on .290 hitting.
