BRONX, N.Y. – The La Salle softball team (0-13, 0-8 A-10) dropped a pair of games on Saturday at Fordham (20-3, 8-0 A-10), 9-0 and 13-0, both in five innings of play.
FORDHAM 9, LA SALLE 0 – FIVE INNINGS
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams tallied three in the first, three in the second, one in the third, and two in the fifth to claim the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Sophomore Lauren Begg finished the game a perfect 2-for-2 as one of three Explorers to reach base safely.
- Junior Kaylee Piven registered a double and sophomore Victoria Zatko reached on a single.
INSIDE THE CIRCLE:
- Junior Sarah Dowalo (0-7) went 4.0 innings and faced two batters in the fifth. She allowed eight earned runs on 10 hits and a walk.
FORDHAM 13, LA SALLE 0 – FIVE INNINGS
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fordham scored three in the second, eight in the third, and two in the fourth for a shortened game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Rams' Devon Miller no hit the Blue & Gold for the second time this weekend with a dozen strikeouts.
INSIDE THE CIRCLE:
- Sophomore Regan Ware (0-6) tossed four innings and allowed 13 earned on 13 hits and two walks.
