FAIRFAX, Va. – Junior Sarah Dowalo  tossed a complete game gem on Sunday afternoon as the La Salle softball team (0-30) fell in extra innings to George Mason (18-17), 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-          La Salle had a chance to score in the top of the seventh with a pair of hits from sophomore Victoria Zatko and junior Kaylee Piven. Zatko was called out at the plate on a bang-bang play.

-          Mason scored the game winning run in the bottom of the eighth on a hit and an error.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

-          Zatko, Piven, sophomore Casey Walker, and rookie Tessa Dodson each recorded a hit in the game.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE:

-          Dowalo (0-18) tossed 7.2 innings with six strikeouts. She allowed the one run on just three hits.
