PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The La Salle field hockey team allowed four unanswered goals in the contest against VCU, falling to the Rams 4-0 on Friday, Sep. 23 at DeVincent Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Explorers saw some early chances at the cage earning the first penalty corner of the game just two minutes into play. Tatum Johnson took the insert from the left of the cage passing it up to Malena Balduzzi on the right for the wide shot.
• La Salle saw another chance at it when Quinn Medico collected a rebound with minimal coverage out front of the VCU cage, sending it into the pads of the goalie for the save.
• The Rams offense put together a four-goal performance over the remaining 55 minutes to walk away with the 4-0 victory over La Salle.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• The teams were even in shots, 8-8, but VCU held the advantage in shots on goal, 7-3.
• Both keepers totaled three saves in the game.
• The Rams held a narrow edge in penalty corners, 6-5.
• Johnson, Medico and Balduzzi led the offensive effort for the Explorers with two shots each.
