Men's Swimming and Diving | October 20, 2023
PHILADELPHIA – Men and women's swimming and diving will face the Drexel Dragons tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. for the first home meet of the season. The meet can be tracked using the Meet Mobile App.
The women are coming off of their first win of the season in a 178-121 victory over UMBC. The men were shorthanded their last time out, but were able to keep it close against a tough UMBC men's squad.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- The women were able to find wins from many different places during their win over UMBC.
- 12 different women were able to finish in the top spot during that meet.
- Felicia Rogell was able to secure two first-place finishes her last time out in the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard freestyle.
- Tiffany Brawn was able to continue her strong diving performance for the women as she secured her second one-meter victory of the season.
- Payton DeCook took first in the women's three-meter providing another strong diving performance for the Explorers.
- The men had strong performances their last time out, but came up short against UMBC.
- Lucas Dekaney had a clean sweep in both the one and three-meter dived for the men and helped him earn Atlantic 10 Conference Performer of the Week.
- Andrea Savoca also performed well for the men as he took first in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke.
- Zack Miller finished first in the 50-yard freestyle against UMBC.
SCOUTING THE DRAGONS:
- Drexel is competing in their first meet of the season tomorrow.
- The women and men were able to top La Salle in their dual meet last season.
- The men's team finished 4th in the CAA Championships last season while the women took 6th out of eight teams.
- The Dragons are led by head swimming and diving coach Nathan Lavery.
