Explorers Compete Against Villanova on Homecoming Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle swimming and diving team competed in its first meet in three weeks, hosting Villanova.
 
The men's team fell by a score of 173-127, and the women's team lost by a result of 202-96.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The men's team won its first event of the day, taking gold in the 200-yard medley relay.
  • Felix Jedbratt won the 200-yard free with a time of 1:41.44, then Noah Fredriksson took the top spot in the 100-yard back with a time of 52.46.
  • In the men's 100-yard breast, Andrea Savoca beat out all his competitors to win with a time of 57.27.
  • On the women's side, the 200-yard relay team of Gabriela Herbreder, Tori Fenn, Shailla Mejia, and Maren Schermerhorn took first, and La Salle's other two teams finished in the top three as well.
  • Savoca got his second individual win of the day in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:07.37, then picked up his third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:55.91.
  • In the 100-yard fly, Jedbratt touched the wall first, finishing the race in 48.89.
  • On the diving side, Tiffany Brawn won both the one-meter and three-meter events. Lucas Dekaney won the men's one-meter event.
UP NEXT
  • The Explorers travel to Charlotte, N.C. for the 2024 Fall Frenzy at the Queens University of Charlotte. The three-day meet starts Thursday, Nov. 21.
