READING, United Kingdom - The La Salle University men's rowing team will make its international debut at the Reading Town Regatta on Saturday. The Explorers, who are competing outside the United States for the first time in program history, have a pair of boats entered in the tune-up event, in advance of the Henley Royal Regatta on July 2-7.
In the first race of the day at 11:12 a.m. local time (6:12 a.m. ET), La Salle will compete in the Open Coxed Four category with two other crews - Great Marlow School from Buckinghamshire, England, and Los Gatos Rowing Club based out of California.
Later in the day at 4:24 p.m. local time (11:24 a.m. ET), the Explorers will square off against Rowing Air Force/Royal Navy based out of Wycombe, England in a semifinal round race. The winner will take on the winner of Orange Coast College from California and Bournemouth University of England, for the right to the Reading Town Regatta title.
