HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • From the first pass, the Temple offense tried to attach the La Salle defense as a majority of the first frame was played in the Owls' offense portion of the field.
  • Less than 30 seconds into the game Temple had a penalty corner opportunity which they got a shot on goal on, but no score resulted of it.
  • Both teams went into a back-and-forth period with short stints on offense, but the next shot by either team broke the scoreless tie.
  • Agustina Tucceri, assisted by Catherine Arentz, got the Owls on the board with just under three minutes remaining in the first.
  • While Temple controlled the ball on offense, they had a difficult time converting, even with another two penalty corner attempts in the second. We went to the half with the Owls up 1-0.
  • Early into the third quarter Temple secured a two-goal lead thanks to Devin Kinzel. This came off of another penalty corner attempt.
  • The Temple defense held strong in the third, not allowing La Salle to get one shot off in the quarter.
  • Just over two minutes into the fourth, the Owls connected yet again. Marthea Lassalle added the third goal of the day for Temple.
  • With the clock expiring, a foul on the Explorer defense on an Owl taking a shot, allowed for Temple to have a penalty stroke with 13 seconds remaining in the game, and they converted.
