Philadelphia, Pa – Each of the six La Salle triathletes who competed in last weekend's East Regional Championship have qualified for the National Championship, which will be held next Saturday, November 8, in Tempe, Arizona.
Fiona Davoudi, Sophie Brandwene, Gabriela Herbreder, Sofia Nordbeck, Beth Eldredge, and Luciana Ruiz will represent La Salle in the race, which will be hosted by Arizona State University at Tempe Town Lake.
In the race layout, athletes will begin the swim portion in Tempe Town Lake, before taking a three-lap bike race through downtown Tempe, over Mill Avenue Bridge and through Papago Park, and then ultimately finishing the race with two laps along the lakefront.
In the team portion of the East Regional Championship, La Salle finished in seventh place out of 20 teams, as it received a strong effort in having each of their six competitors finish the race. Fiona Davoudi posted the fastest time for La Salle with a 1:06:41.
