Washington, D.C. – La Salle University men's basketball guard
Deuce Jones has been named Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season, the conference announced Sunday. With the win, Jones continues his record-breaking season. He previously broke the record of 5 Rookie of the Week wins set by NBA veteran Gary Neal and current assistant coach
Donnie Carr.
The guard averaged 19.5 points in two games. He also grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game. Jones set a new career-high with 27 points in La Salle's win over Saint Joseph's. His scoring outburst is the most by an Explorer freshman since at least 2000.
La Salle will be back in action on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. as the Explorers face the UMass Minutemen in the first round of the A-10 tournament at Capital One Arena. The game will air on USA Network.
